MAKINDE, Solomon Olanrewaju is a Professor of Yoruba Education in the Department of Language, Arts and Social Science Education, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State. He obtained his Ph. D. from the prestigious University of Ibadan in 2004 and appointed a full professor in 2014. His current research is on Popular culture, media, literature and language. He is a member of many professional and academic associations including Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), African Languages Teachers Association (ALTA), International Association of Language Educators (IALE) and Linguistic Association of Nigeria (LAN), Yoruba Studies Association (YSAN), National Association of Yoruba Language Teachers of Nigeria, Literacy Promotion Association, Nigeria (LiPAN), Pan African Literacy for All (PALFA) and International Literacy Association (ILA). He has attended many workshops and conferences and polished widely in local and international learned journals.
